Art At The Park Competition

We want local kids to get creative for the chance to become part of a new artwork commissioned to celebrate both the Jubilee and The Commonwealth Games this summer.

Arena is asking children aged 5-14 to send in their pictures so they can select as many as possible to be incorporated into an impressive 2m sq. cube artwork, which will installed on the mall at Arena from Saturday 28 May onwards.  Any child whose work is used will also have their name proudly displayed on the cube.

The pictures can be inspired by either (or both!) the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June or the Commonwealth Games, which takes place across the West Midlands from 28 July-8 August 2022. For Jubilee it could be a picture of Queen Elizabeth II, a street party or one of the corgis! For the Commonwealth Games it could be a picture of their favourite sport, athlete or a gold medal.  Anything goes and the more imaginative the better!

To enter a template can be downloaded here and this can be uploaded to the website until entries close on Friday 13 May before the winners are selected.  We’ll be choosing as many as we can to be included and our top three will each receive a £50 gift card to spend in their favourite Arena store.

Everyone will then have the chance to come together to finish the artwork on Sat 28 and Sun 29 May when the public will be invited to come along to the centre to colour in the artwork before it goes on display for the rest of summer 2022!
